Students currently enrolled in a course from Edmonds Community College Computer Science, Computer, Electronics and Networks or Computer Information Systems departments, may check out certain Microsoft software, including (among others):
Visual Studio.NET 2005 Professional
Windows XP Pro with SP2
Windows Vista Business Visual SourceSafe 6.0d SQL Server 2005 Developer Expression Web
Visio Professional 2007
Project Professional 2007 Access 2007 OneNote 2007 Windows Services for Unix 3.0 ...
...but not MS Office.
All software is limited to 1 install per product, whether it be checkout, download or purchase.
You can download software at home by sending an e-mail to mcline@edcc.edu
Make sure to include the following information in your email:
your name (as registered for class) a copy of your class schedule or the current quarter. If you include this as an attachment, the file should be of type .txt or .doc (other file types may be rejected by the mail server). You may also paste the schedule into the body of the e-mail. the instructors name in the qualifying course
You will then receive an email with a username and password, along with a link to the site where you can access the software to begin your download. All software on the site is available to you for download. You may need a CD burner on the computer to which you download for some software. It is advised that you only try this if you have DSL or other high-speed Internet connection as download times are long.
Windows XP Pro, Visio, Project and Visual Studio.NET Professional 2005 are available for purchase instead of download if you prefer. You will need a credit or debit card. The disk(s) will be mailed to you.

Students must bring a copy of their current quarter class schedule the first time they borrow software. Only software needed for your class will be available, and disks must be returned to the office (generally within a few days)
